Deviated septum correction
Chronic nasal obstruction can have various causes. An ENT examination is essential to determine the cause. In most cases, the problem is a deviated nasal septum, possibly accompanied by enlarged turbinates on one or both sides. A chronically blocked nose can lead to headaches, sleep disturbances and chronic fatigue. If conservative measures do not bring about sufficient improvement, surgical septoplasty is necessary.
An outpatient surgical procedure can remove the obstructions, allowing you to breathe freely through your nose again on a permanent basis. At the end of the operation, silicone nasal splints are inserted into the nose to stabilise the nasal septum. Nasal packing is not used. The nasal splints are removed after approximately 4–7 days. The healing period is around 2 weeks.
